New Delhi: A cab driver was allegedly murdered by a group of passengers en route to Jaipur, Rajasthan. The deceased, Ashish Pal, 22, a native of Auraiya, UP, and resident of Noida, had gone missing on July 20. His body was recovered two days later from Jaipur Rural.Police traced the case to Delhi based on the last location of the cab. A case was registered before police nabbed the accused—four adults and a juvenile.They had come to Delhi on July 18 for a visit. On July 20, they booked Ashish’s cab near a hospital in Jasola for Jaipur for Rs 6,500, and began their journey via Mumbai Expressway. Meanwhile, one of them planned to steal the cab and sell it, and persuaded others to join him.Around 40-50 km before Jaipur, one of them asked Ashish to stop for toilet at an isolated place. Then two of them overpowered him and strangled him to death in the car. After dumping Ashish’s body by the roadside, the accused fled in the cab with his mobile phone and wallet, police said.The accused were held after raiding multiple locations. Three of them committed the murder while two helped them escape, police said.
