NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday announced that it will launch a website where injured protesters and those alleging police assault during the ongoing agitation can upload photographs of the police personnel involved.Addressing the media, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the party plans to use the material to pursue legal action.“We are launching a website where injured protesters and those who were assaulted by the police can upload pictures of the police personnel involved. We will file complaints against them and move the court if the Delhi Police does not register FIRs,” Das told PTI.Meanwhile, CJP spokesperson Ratna Singh appealed to lawyers in Delhi to assist in securing the release of detained protesters. She alleged that police had set up checkpoints at Lodhi Road and Nizamuddin and were detaining young people travelling in auto-rickshaws and cabs.“Police are detaining youth commuting by auto-rickshaw and cabs after setting up checkpoints at Lodhi Road and Nizamuddin. Cops are also misbehaving with lawyers,” Singh alleged.CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, meanwhile, asserted that the party’s agitation would continue despite social activist Sonam Wangchuk ending his 26-day hunger strike.Dipke welcomed Wangchuk’s decision to end the fast, saying his health was of paramount importance, but maintained that the movement’s primary demand remained unchanged.“Our protest will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. We are very happy and relieved that Sonam Sir has ended his hunger strike, as it had been over 26 days. His life is extremely precious to this country,” Dipke said.Reiterating the party’s stand on talks with the Centre, Dipke said any discussions should take place at a neutral venue.“Our demonstration will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan steps down. Any meeting must take place at a neutral location. Nothing less than Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation will be accepted,” he added.(With agency inputs)
