NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday said the Centre has agreed to hold talks at a neutral venue, with the meeting scheduled at the Constitution Club of India, while asserting that it would continue to press for its longstanding demands. Speaking ahead of the discussions, CJP spokesperson Vaishnavi Gaur said the delegation would present the same demands it has maintained since the beginning of the agitation. “The government has agreed to meet us at a neutral place. We will be putting our demands, which we have been consistent with from the first day. Our four demands include the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, compensation for the affected families, and withdrawal of all FIRs registered against innocent protesters,” Gaur said. She reiterated that the outfit’s key demands include the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, compensation for the families affected by the alleged NEET paper leak, and withdrawal of all FIRs registered against what she described as “innocent protesters.” The talks come after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike following assurances from the Centre, even as the CJP maintained that its protest at Jantar Mantar would continue until its core demands are addressed.
