Noida: A woman out shopping with a friend at a mall in Sector 49 was allegedly slapped, shoved and threatened by her estranged husband on Friday. Cops have arrested the woman’s husband and the friend for creating a fracas after videos of the incident showed the two men locked in a fistfight.An FIR registered on the woman’s complaint said the couple had been married for 10 years, were undergoing divorce proceedings and lived separately. She alleged her husband arrived at the mall where she was shopping, apparently accompanied by a friend who purchased gifts for her, and publicly abused them.When they objected, he allegedly assaulted her — slapping her, pushing her to the ground and threatening to kill her — before her friend intervened. CCTV footage from the mall shows bystanders joining the altercation.Police said the two men were arrested under Section 170 of BNSS (preventive detention) and sent to jail. Officials said they are examining the videos to determine the exact sequence of events and the role played by the accused. The woman, police said, is a resident of Delhi’s Sonia Vihar and lives separately with her children; the couple are undergoing divorce proceedings.
