NEW DELHI: Advocate Anil Singh, representing the Noida resident booked over allegedly objectionable remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claimed that the FIR was registered under the wrong name and incorrectly states that she works at a salon.Ruchika Singh allegedly made defamatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.Speaking to IANS, Anil said she is actually 15 years old and is pursuing Class 10 through open schooling.“The FIR has been registered under the wrong name. Her actual age is 15 years. I have read the FIR, which states that she works at a salon. However, she is currently 15 years old and is pursuing Class 10 through open schooling,” Singh said.He alleged that the FIR was registered without any investigation and that the police acted in haste.“The FIR was registered without any investigation. The police have also acted in great haste. We have not received any notice from the police yet. So far, no police personnel have contacted us, nor has any pressure been put on us,” Anil said.Noida Police had earlier registered a Zero FIR against Ruchika following a complaint by Supreme Court advocate Smriti Singh.The case was registered under Sections 352, 353(1), and 356(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) over allegedly objectionable remarks against the prime minister during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar.The matter was later transferred to Delhi Police as the alleged incident took place during the protest in the national capital.The girl later posted a video apologising for the remarks and claimed that she was 15 years old. She said she had been influenced by other protesters and apologised for what she had said.Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke about the incident in an Instagram video, calling the remarks directed at him and his late mother a “cultural shock”. He appealed against punitive action and said young people should be embraced rather than punished.
