Vijayawada: The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the state’s QR code-based digital door numbering project, aimed at creating a unique digital identity for every property and improving the delivery of civic services.At a review meeting, deputy commissioner (revenue) G Srujana directed officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe and ensure accuracy in all stages of implementation. She stressed the importance of property data collection, parcel mapping, geo-tagging, road mapping and integration of records with the ERP system.Srujana said the initiative would help make civic services more transparent, efficient and accessible by assigning a unique QR code to each property. She also reviewed issues being faced at the field level and instructed officials to take necessary steps for their resolution.The deputy commissioner emphasised the need to maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy of geographical identification and completeness of property records. She noted that the digital database generated through the exercise would support urban planning, property tax administration and the improvement of citizen services.
