NEW DELHI: Police have registered a dowry death case and arrested the husband of the 28-year-old woman allegedly fell to her death from a residential building in south Delhi’s Palika Kunj.Cops say no evidence of foul play has surfaced so far and preliminary the case appears to be of suicide.The deceased woman, Akriti, had gotten married to Arastu Sikka in April this year. She worked as a sales executive with a healthcare company in Chhatarpur, while he is in unemployed. The couple lived with Sikka’s father in Pushp Vihar.At 8 pm on Saturday, the Lodhi Colony police station was alerted that a woman was critically injured after falling from the NDMC residential building. Akriti was taken to AlIMS, where she was declared dead.Akriti’s family had earlier alleged foul play and dowry harrasment, while police said all angles, including suicide, were being probed.Police said that a dowry death case has been registered at the Lodhi Colony police station and Arastu Sikka has been arrested. Probe is underway to ascertain the sequence of events that led Akriti to reach the building that her family claims she had no connection with.
