Speaking to South African broadcaster eNCA, Jayden Adams’ father said the family is finding it difficult to come to terms with what has happened.“As you all know, it was an untimely death. The family is struggling to process it. It won’t be easy to carry on. People say it will become easier, but it won’t. You just learn to live with it,” he said.He added that the support coming from fans around the world has been overwhelming.“So we’ll see what the time ahead holds for us. The whole world is reacting to Jayden’s death. Like I said, it’s very tough, we can see the love the world had for his soccer and for Jayden.”His father continued, “Its very overwhelming honestly.”The midfielder’s death has shocked South African football. Adams had recently played for his country at the FIFA World Cup and was widely seen as one of the nation’s rising stars.Following news of his death, South Africa’s Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, also appealed to the public not to spread unverified claims. Just weeks before Adams’ death, his partner Aqueelah Adendorf had celebrated one of the biggest moments of his career.In an Instagram post shared on May 27, ahead of South Africa’s World Cup campaign, Adendorf spoke about the hard work that had helped him reach the international stage.“Watching you achieve something this big has filled my heart with so much pride,” she wrote. She praised his dedication through “hard work, sacrifices, early mornings, disappointments, and moments nobody saw,” adding that he never gave up on his dream of representing his country.The couple shared a five-year-old daughter, and Adendorf said she was proud to stand beside him through every challenge.After Adams’ death was announced, she returned to social media with another emotional message.“There are no words to describe the pain I’m feeling,” she wrote. “Rest in peace, my love. Thank you for every memory, every laugh, every hug, and every moment we shared. You were not only the love of my life but also my greatest supporter and my best friend.”“Rest easy, my angel.
