New Delhi: An unidentified caller contacted Mumbai Police Control Room Friday, claiming that Delhi’s Red Fort would be blown up. They relayed the information to Delhi Police, after which North district police initiated security measures.Security personnel, along with bomb disposal and dog squads, conducted a thorough search of the Red Fort premises. After the inspection, police declared the threat a hoax. An investigation is under way to identify the caller and trace the origin of the threat.The incident unfolded amid a spate of hoax bomb threats in the capital. In June, the office of the mayor received a bomb threat, with a message claiming that explosives had been planted at multiple locations across Delhi and Haryana. Searches at the identified sites yielded nothing, and the threat was declared a hoax.
