Kamalika on Kyunki season 2’s success

“Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has a unique destiny. When there was talk of a Season 2, I was the most excited because getting back together with the cast was incredibly special. At the same time, we did wonder whether the show would receive the same kind of popularity because the television audience has changed over the years. But right from the telecast of the very first episode, the response has been phenomenal. The love we’ve received from viewers has been truly overwhelming and very, very special. While audiences continue to celebrate her on-screen journey, the actress has quietly built an equally meaningful life away from the cameras. In 2016, she founded an NGO dedicated to creating awareness around mental health, with a special focus on underserved and vulnerable communities.“Apart from acting, I devote a lot of my time to social work. I founded an NGO in 2016 with the aim of spreading awareness about mental health among marginalised and vulnerable communities. Over the years, we’ve worked with people undergoing cancer treatment, women empowerment groups, children in judicial custody and adolescents studying in government-aided schools. It’s work that gives me immense purpose and fulfilment. Her passion for preserving her cultural roots is equally close to her heart. To celebrate and promote Bengal’s rich artistic heritage, she also established an institute in Mumbai dedicated to the teachings of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.“To remain connected to my Bengali roots, I started an institute in Mumbai where we teach Rabindra Sangeet and Rabindrik Nritya, both based on the works of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. It’s my way of keeping that beautiful legacy alive.”Despite her long and successful career, there’s still one genre she hasn’t explored—and she’s eager to change that. “I’d really love to try comedy. It’s a genre I haven’t attempted before, and I think it would be a refreshing challenge as an actor.”With the digital entertainment space booming, fans have often wondered why they haven’t seen her in a web series yet. The actress says it’s simply been a matter of time. “Web series definitely interest me. However, because of my current television commitments, I haven’t had the opportunity to explore that platform. I would certainly love to be part of an interesting web project in the future.”As Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi continues to win hearts across generations, the actress remains a shining example of someone who has balanced a celebrated acting career with meaningful social initiatives and a deep commitment to preserving her cultural heritage.
