New Delhi: The School of Open Learning (SOL), University of Delhi, will offer eight foreign language courses in online mode from the 2026–27 academic session. The university’s Academic Council has approved the move.With this, students from across India and abroad will be able to pursue these one-year diploma programmes remotely.SOL officials said the decision was taken in response to long-standing student demand. The programmes were introduced in offline mode last year.The courses will be offered through the department of germanic and romance studies and the department of east asian studies. Languages under Germanic and Romance Studies include French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Italian. East Asian Studies will offer Chinese, Korean and Japanese.“The programmes have been designed for remote learning through a digital platform. Classes will be conducted online, offering flexibility in terms of time and access. Students will be able to access video lectures and assignments through the platform. In addition, face-to-face sessions will also be scheduled, with details to be provided on the official portal,” the official said.
