NEW DELHI: A 19-year-old man died after allegedly falling from a residential building in northwest Delhi’s Ashok Vihar, police said on Saturday.Preliminary inquiry revealed that the man had allegedly uploaded a video on his Facebook account shortly before the incident. Based on the evidence collected so far, the incident appears to be a case of suicide. No foul play has been suspected at this stage.Police said information about the incident was received at Ashok Vihar police station around 4.45pm on Friday, following which a team rushed to the building in Ashok Vihar Phase-II.On reaching the spot, police found the youth critically injured and rushed him to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, an officer said.The deceased was identified as 19-year-old Anurag, a resident of Lala Bagh in Azadpur. His father is serving with the Delhi Home Guard, police added.A crime team was called to inspect the spot and conduct a detailed examination as part of the investigation. The body has been preserved at the mortuary of Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital for post-mortem and other legal formalities, they said.Proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), pertaining to inquest proceedings in unnatural deaths, have been initiated, police added.The exact circumstances leading to the fall are yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway, they said.
