This is the most sacred day for worshiping Lord Vishnu and the Moon God and the falls in the month of Ashadha. People get engaged in various puja rituals and spiritual activities to appease Lord Vishnu. These activities are done for the spiritual enlightenment. This is the day, when Moon God appears full in the sky. On this sacred day, many devotees observe the Satyanarayan fast and offer prayers to Lord Satyanarayan, who is another manifestation of Lord Vishnu.

Ashadah Purnima 2026: Puja Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rites.2. Take a wooden plank, place an idol of Lord Vishnu along with Lord Ganesha and Shree Yantra, a symbol of Laxmi Mata.3. Light a diya with desi cow ghee and adorn the idol with flowers or garland.4. Offer sweets, tulsi patra, and panchamrit to Lord Vishnu.5. Chant the Lord Vishnu Mantra to invoke the idol.6. Another important part of this fast is offering arghya to Moon God.7. In the evening, devotees break their fast with sattvik meals.8. One should get involved in charitable deeds. 9. Devotees should read Bhagavad Gita and the Ramayana to seek blessings of Lord Vishnu as this is Chaturmas so one must do it to earn blessings. 10. Devotees are advised to feed cows on this specific day because this will be rewarding.
