New Delhi: Delhi govt Monday demonstrated advanced spray injection patching technology for permanent pothole repair. PWD minister Parvesh Verma said the fully mechanised, single-machine method would enable faster, durable and all-weather repairs with minimal traffic disruption.The machine first cleans the pothole using high-velocity air, applies a bonding coat of bitumen emulsion and then injects emulsion-coated aggregate under high pressure. The compaction is achieved through the injection velocity itself, eliminating the need for rolling, said PWD. One machine with a small crew can repair 100-150 potholes in a day.
