John Abraham is set to team up with filmmaker Shivam Nair once again. The duo previously collaborated on ‘The Diplomat’ in 2025. They are now reportedly developing an untitled action thriller featuring two male leads. The upcoming film is expected to be a commercial entertainer. It is also being described as one of Shivam Nair’s most mainstream projects so far. Details about the second hero and the rest of the cast are yet to be announced.According to Bollywood Hungama, John was impressed by the project during the early discussions. “John was bowled over by the concept and immediately came on board,” according to the portal’s report. The makers are reportedly planning to take the film on floors by the end of this year. The production schedule is expected to be worked out in the coming months. The project is currently targeting a theatrical release in late 2027. More details about the title, cast and production are expected to emerge once the makers make an official announcement.
‘The Diplomat’ marked John Abraham and Shivam Nair’s first collaboration
John Abraham and Shivam Nair first worked together on ‘The Diplomat’. The 2025 film was inspired by the real-life story of Uzma Ahmed and her efforts to return to India after being held captive in Pakistan. Sadia Khateeb played Uzma in the film. The story follows her ordeal after she was allegedly deceived into marriage. It also focuses on the diplomatic efforts that helped secure her return to India. John played JP Singh, the Deputy High Commissioner of India. Revathy portrayed then External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The film highlighted the efforts of Indian officials involved in the rescue operation.
John Abraham has several projects lined up
The new Shivam Nair collaboration comes at a busy time for John Abraham. The actor already has multiple projects in different stages of development. One of his upcoming films is ‘Force 3’. The action thriller is scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 19, 2027. John is also associated with an untitled biographical film based on former Mumbai Police commissioner Rakesh Maria. Rohit Shetty is attached to direct the project.
