Magpies down Eels in NSW Cup
In the NSW Cup match that’s just finished, the Wests Magpies have beaten Parramatta 30-24 in the curtain raiser.
Is that an omen for what’s about to happen in the NRL?
It is the Magpies’ first win of the season
Eels vs Tigers team news
Here’s how the two teams line up today.

Eels
With regular fullback Isaiah Iongi out with that hip drop ankle injury, Joash Papalii starts in the number one jersey, although the Eels have options with Apa Twidle on the six-man bench.
The 21-year-old scored four tries in the 26-26 NSW Cup draw against Penrith last weekend, finishing with a total of 18 points in one of the competition’s great individual performances.
Also on the interchange, Charlie Guymer comes onto the bench to replace Matt Doorey, who is out for the year with an ACL injury, while veteran prop Jack de Belin also comes onto the bench.
Wests Tigers
Keeping it simple for the Tigers, who make no changes to the starting line up that burst the Warriors’s bubble in Auckland last week.
Western Sydney Stadium is a sell out
Happy Easter!
Hello everyone and welcome to the ABC Sport coverage of Easter Monday’s rugby league, as this endless weekend of footy action finally reaches its climax.
We’re headed vicariously out west to Parramatta today, safe in the knowledge that our chocolate eggs are about to be worked off by our ceaseless leaping up and down off the couch by the thrilling action that we’re about to witness as the Eels host West Tigers in another western suburbs derby.
My name is Simon Smale, refreshed after two days off and yet somehow still here to talk about round five of the NRL, which is still going after a long weekend of action.
It’s been quite a weekend too, but we’ll get to that shortly.
For now, stick the kettle on, get your feet up on that favourite chair, tune your wireless to ABC Radio and keep your eyes locked into this here blog as we celebrate the final game of the round together.
