New Delhi: A 10-year-old boy, who was found unattended on the platform of Sahibabad Namo Bharat Station towards Delhi, was reunited with his parents, who were searching for him at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station late Saturday night.Officials said the boy had travelled independently to Muradnagar to visit Chhota Haridwar. His mother and other family members travelled there to bring him back. While returning, the child inadvertently got separated from his family. The family deboarded at Anand Vihar, their intended destination, while the child deboarded at Sahibabad.“Sahibabad station staff noticed the child unattended on the platform and alerted the Operations Control Centre (OCC), which informed them that his parents were searching for him at Anand Vihar. Station Controllers at both stations coordinated to ensure the child’s safe reunion with his family. He was handed over to his parents at Anand Vihar station after necessary verification by Delhi Police,” said an official of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is implementing the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.A similar intervention at Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat Station in July helped rescue a seven-year-old boy. The station staff noticed a child appearing distressed while travelling with a woman who claimed to be his mother. The child denied knowing the woman, following which the Station Controller alerted CISF personnel and Delhi Police. The child’s parents were contacted and the matter was handed over to the Delhi Police for further investigation, helping ensure the child’s safe reunion with his family.
