Agartala: Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing death of Tripura DGP Anurag Dhankar, who was found hanging in his office washroom on July 20, has reached New Delhi to interact with family members and collect evidence.Team comprises Amtali Police Station OC inspector Rana Chatterjee, West Agartala Women Police Station OC inspector Shiuli Das, Ramnagar Town Outpost OC SI Subendu Das, additional SP (Urban) Dhruva Nath, additional SP (AN) Souvik De, Cyber Crime Police Station OC deputy SP Benjamin Dewan, and inspector Bhaskar Saha. It is led by West Tripura SP Namit Pathak.The SIT was established by Tripura govt to conduct a transparent probe into the unnatural death, amid demands by CPM and Congress for a judicial inquiry by a sitting high court judge.According to post-mortem and forensic reports, DGP Dhankar died by hanging. Official sources said inspector Chatterjee, who previously served with CBI in critical cases, was specially assigned to the team.In Delhi, the SIT will gather key documents, record testimonies, and verify details to clarify circumstances surrounding the DGP’s death as part of a multi-angle investigation.
