New Delhi: A 45-year-old teacher engaged in the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls allegedly jumped off Rani Jhansi Flyover Thursday. Police said a handwritten note seized from the spot suggested that he had been under immense pressure.The man had allegedly jumped from at least 30 feet in a suicide attempt. He sustained multiple injuries, including fractures in both hands. Police said passersby who noticed him lying injured alerted them at 4.33 pm and called an ambulance. Anand Kumar Saroha, a resident of Shastri Nagar, was initially taken to Hindu Rao Hospital. He was later shifted to another hospital for specialised treatment. Police said his condition is stable and he is out of danger.In the note found by police, it was written in Hindi: “There is excessive work pressure. For the past three to four days, I have felt that my health has been deteriorating. Therefore, I am taking this decision on my own.”Saroha is a mathematics teacher at Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya, a govt senior secondary school under the Directorate of Education. He had been additionally assigned the duty of supervising officers of booth numbers 141-150, Sadar Bazaar.
