New Delhi: Public Works Department (PWD) has proposed an integrated corridor improvement plan for Gandhi Nagar road, covering the stretch from Mother Dairy to Kashyap Mohalla.This will help ease congestion along key arterial stretches in east Delhi, including Mother Dairy road, Gandhi Nagar road and Geeta Colony road.The project involves engaging a consultant to prepare a conceptual plan aimed at ensuring congestion-free traffic movement along the corridor.The scope of work includes conducting a detailed topographical survey of the site. The consultant will prepare contour maps indicating existing ground levels, slopes, drains, manholes and permanent structures such as lamp posts and trees. The survey will also identify and map all existing utilities, including water supply lines, sewer lines, electrical cables and telecom ducts, while documenting the existing road geometry, footpaths, medians and traffic islands. Digital survey data will also be submitted.A ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey will be carried out to identify underground utilities and obstructions up to the required depth, followed by submission of a detailed report.The consultant will prepare a preliminary project report (PPR), comprising the detailed topographical survey report, GPR survey report, zoning plans for drains, service utilities, footpaths and the main carriageway, proposals for utility shifting wherever required, and plans for integration with nearby road networks, public transport and the drainage system.The PPR will also include concept plans outlining the project’s vision, objectives and proposed interventions, including lane configurations, intersections, junctions and service roads. In addition, the consultant will prepare 3D drawings and walkthrough videos to illustrate the proposed improvements.The assignment further includes preparation of detailed architectural drawings, conducting soil investigations, and preparing detailed structural drawings along with the required structural vetting.
