Oliver Rowland cheers for Arvid Lindblad at Monaco Grand Prix days after Formula E victory

Reigning Formula E champion Oliver Rowland has been making good use of his free time ahead of the next race in Sanya. The Nissan driver was cheering for protege Arvid Lindblad in Monaco, as promised, when the Racing Bulls F1 driver finished sixth in the Monaco Grand Prix. Lindblad’s points finish came weeks after Rowland won the Monaco E-Prix, Formula E’s Round 10 race in the city.

Oliver Rowland continues to be by Arvid Lindblad’s side in his rookie F1 season

Oliver Rowland had promised he would be cheering for F1 rookie Arvid Lindblad at most races during the first half of the season and had already joined him at both the Australian and Chinese Grands Prix. Rowland took to his Instagram Stories to share Lindblad’s post, in which he uploaded a collection of pictures from the Monaco Grand Prix.Lindblad wrote on Instagram: “First F1 weekend in Monaco. Stoked with P6, especially considering where we started. Hectic race, but so happy to come away with points and a career-best finish. Massive shout-out to the team for the hard work this weekend, great execution, and thanks for getting the cars ready just in time for the race. Next stop, Barca.”Formula E driver Antonio Felix da Costa reacted to the post, commenting: “Top”. F1 driver Charles Leclerc also commented: “Let’s go mate.”A fan also wrote: “Insane drive during that race and on this circuit this is generational.” Another commented: “P15 to P6 in the worst race to overtake is crazy work, good job.”Lindblad and team-mate Liam Lawson also took a plunge into the water in Monaco to celebrate their team’s double points finish. Lawson finished fifth, one position ahead of Lindblad.

Oliver Rowland claimed his first victory of the season in Monaco last month

Oliver Rowland is back in the Formula E Season 12 title race after claiming six podium finishes in ten races. There are seven more races to go before the season crowns a new world champion. Rowland had already secured five podiums before Monaco, but the race marked his first victory of the season, taking his podium tally to six.The Briton sits behind Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans in the Drivers’ Standings.
