NEET UG 2026 answer key challenge ends as NTA opens recorded response objection facility

NEET OMR Sheet 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the scanned images of OMR answer sheets and recorded responses for candidates who appeared in the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. The documents have been uploaded on the official NEET portal, while scanned copies of OMR answer sheets have also been sent to candidates through their registered email addresses. The facility allows candidates to review the responses captured during the scanning process and raise objections if they find any discrepancy between their marked answers and the recorded responses. NTA has clarified that the answer key challenge process has already concluded and no further objections against the answer key will be accepted.Challenge facility available for recorded responsesCandidates can submit online challenges against recorded responses until 11.00 am on July 15, 2026. A processing fee of Rs 200 per response challenged must be paid online through debit card, credit card or net banking. Challenges submitted without payment or through any mode other than the online portal will not be considered. To access the documents, candidates must log in using their application number and password. NTA has also introduced a Two-Factor Authentication system, requiring candidates to verify their identity through a one-time password sent to their registered mobile number and email address before viewing the scanned OMR sheet and recorded responses.Procedure for submitting objectionsThe challenge portal enables candidates to compare the high-resolution scanned OMR sheet with the responses captured by the scanning system. If any recorded response differs from the answer marked on the physical OMR sheet, candidates can select the relevant question and indicate the option they claim to have marked.According to the annexure issued by NTA, candidates may also report errors in the capturing of vital data fields, including roll number, booklet number or set code. The system automatically calculates the total processing fee based on the number of challenges submitted. After successful payment, candidates must submit the challenge online and download the acknowledgement page for future reference.Instructions issued by NTANTA has advised candidates to review the scanned OMR sheet carefully before filing any objection. Only responses marked by completely darkening a single circle with a blue or black ballpoint pen will be treated as valid. The agency has also warned that manipulated or tampered OMR images submitted during the challenge process will be treated as cases of unfair means, which may lead to debarment or legal action.
