‘Nasha Not Cool’: From Flash Mobs to Campus Pop-Ups, Anti-Drug Campaign Hits Delhi’s Streets

New Delhi: As part of its ongoing “Nasha Not Cool” campaign, Delhi Police has been targeting young people where they are most visible – university campuses, markets and popular hangouts. On Sunday, flash mobs broke out at Central Park in Connaught Place, Kartavya Path and Select Citywalk Mall in Saket, drawing curious crowds before slipping in messages about the risks of substance abuse. At the same time, nearly 400 people including students, volunteers and fitness enthusiasts joined a cycle rally around India Gate, linking the campaign’s message with healthy living. At DU’s North and South campuses, as well as CP, specially designed cutouts placed in public areas reveal anti-drug messages when picked up. These materials prominently feature the MANAS National Narcotics Helpline (1933), a 24×7 toll-free number for those seeking help or reporting drug-related concerns.Beyond the streets, the campaign is finding space in stadiums and cinema halls. A rap-based theme song is also being screened during IPL matches at Arun Jaitley Stadium and across theatres in the city, widening its reach beyond traditional awareness drives.
