NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead inside her home in south Delhi’s Sangam Vihar on Thursday, with police launching a manhunt for her husband, who is accused of firing multiple rounds before fleeing.Investigators are also looking into allegations by the victim’s family that the accused was involved in an extramarital affair, which they claim had led to frequent marital disputes.The incident took place around 4 pm in the Tigri area of Sangam Vihar.According to police, the deceased was allegedly shot four times by her husband, Shubham Rajput, who fled the spot soon after the attack.Preliminary investigation suggests the couple, who had been married for around two years, had frequent arguments.Police said the accused had allegedly been threatening the woman with dire consequences.The victim’s family has alleged that Rajput was involved in an extramarital relationship, which often led to arguments between the couple.“The family has claimed that the accused was in a relationship with another woman and would often threaten to kill her. These allegations are being verified,” a police officer said.Relatives also alleged that Rajput was involved in betting activities. However, police said they were examining all aspects of the case and verifying his background.After receiving information, police teams rushed to the spot and shifted the woman’s body for post-mortem examination.Crime and forensic teams inspected the scene and collected evidence, including empty cartridges.A case of murder has been registered, and multiple teams have been formed to trace the accused, who remains absconding.Further investigation is underway.(With PTI inputs)
