Hindu College, University of Delhi, celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and active participation from faculty members, non-teaching staff, students, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets of the Army and Naval Wings, and frontline workers. The Yoga Sangam event was organized under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on the lush green lawns of the college and witnessed the participation of over 100 participants. The participants enthusiastically performed yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation by following the Common Yoga Protocol through the live telecast organized by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. They joined the nationwide celebration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who participated in the International Day of Yoga programme from Kolkata, West Bengal.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Anju Srivastava, Principal of Hindu College, highlighted the transformative role of yoga in fostering holistic health and well-being. She noted that Hindu College has consistently celebrated the International Day of Yoga with enthusiasm and dedication, reaffirming its commitment to the physical, mental, and emotional wellness of students, faculty, and staff. Referring to the 2026 theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” she encouraged everyone to adopt yoga, meditation, and healthy dietary practices as integral parts of daily life. She emphasised that even a simple yoga routine can enhance vitality, mental balance, inner harmony, and contribute significantly to healthy and graceful ageing.Prof. Srivastava felicitated the yoga instructors for their valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the event. She also expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of AYUSH for their continued support and encouragement in promoting the message of health, harmony, and wellness among the youth. The programme concluded with a collective pledge to integrate yoga into daily life and spread awareness about its immense benefits, thereby contributing to the creation of a healthier, happier, and more mindful society.
