Delhi Police Apprehends Maths Teacher for Aiding Harry Boxer-Lawrence Bishnoi Gang in Rs 10 Crore Extortion

New Delhi: A 35-year-old maths teacher, Amit Bishnoi, has been apprehended by Delhi Police’s Special Cell for allegedly surveilling a businessman and sharing a video of his office with jailed gangster Harry Boxer to facilitate a Rs 10-crore extortion bid.Amit, a B.Tech graduate from Hisar, Haryana, has been working as a teacher at coaching institutes in Mukherjee Nagar since 2018. Police said he acted as a local accomplice of the Harry Boxer-Lawrence Bishnoi gang.The victim, a Mukherjee Nagar resident, began receiving WhatsApp calls from international numbers on June 1. The caller, claiming to be Harry Boxer, demanded Rs 10 crore and threatened to kill him and his children if the money was not paid within a week.The gangster also sent a video of the victim’s office and threatened to blow up the premises, indicating close monitoring.Police found that Amit conducted the recce, shared the footage and details of the victim’s family and business with Harry Boxer. A case was registered at Mukherjee Nagar police station on July 8.
