Patna: Bihar Police and the State Bank of India (SBI) have joined hands to launch ‘Cyber Secure Bihar’, a statewide initiative aimed at raising awareness about cybercrime and promoting safe online practices. The campaign was launched at SBI’s head office in Patna on Wednesday, where an illustrated book titled “Be the Next Cyber Champ” was also unveiled.Senior officials present at the launch included Kundan Krishnan, DG (special branch), Ranjeet Kumar Mishra, IG, cybercrime & security unit, and Anurag Joshi, chief general manager, SBI Patna circle.As part of the campaign, workshops and training programmes will be conducted in schools, colleges, banks and government offices across the state in the coming months. The initiative will also feature social media campaigns, videos, podcasts, quizzes, street plays and community outreach programmes in public spaces.The campaign will target students, youth, women, senior citizens, pensioners, bank customers, government employees and the general public.Krishnan said cyber safety has become a shared responsibility and stressed that awareness remains the strongest defence against online fraud. He urged people to adopt safe digital practices and remain vigilant while using online platforms.Joshi said ensuring the safety of digital banking users is a top priority for SBI. He added that the partnership with Bihar Police and Intenext Solutions Pvt Ltd would help strengthen public trust in digital services and encourage their safe adoption.
