NEW DELHI: Technology lead of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), Rohan Deshpande, has invited volunteers to join the party’s technology team and work on its website.In a post shared on X, Rohan announced openings for multiple technical roles and said the positions are unpaid.He also urged applicants to apply only if they can dedicate a “decent” amount of time to volunteering.According to the recruitment poster, the CJP Technology team is looking for volunteers for four roles — Backend Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Frontend Engineer and Security Engineer.The party has listed seven openings in total, with two positions each for Backend Engineer, DevOps Engineer and Frontend Engineer, and one position for a Security Engineer.The recruitment post said the team is working on building “real tools for a real movement” and called for volunteers willing to contribute to the initiative.Interested applicants have been asked to fill out an online form shared by the party. The application form is available at the CJP volunteer recruitment form.CJP expands organisational structureThe volunteer recruitment comes after the CJP recently announced its National Working Committee as part of efforts to strengthen its organisational framework.Rohan has been named the party’s Technology Lead. Founder Abhijeet Dipke has been appointed National Convener, while chief spokesperson Saurav Das and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka have been named Co-Conveners.The newly formed committee will oversee the party’s expansion plans, including setting up state coordination committees, Lok Sabha-level units and city-level teams across the country over the next six months, according to the CJP.CJP backs Jharkhand student protestersMeanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has condemned the alleged police lathi-charge on student protesters in Jharkhand and expressed solidarity with student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who is undergoing treatment in hospital.According to a CJP statement, Dipke spoke to Mahto over a video call while the student leader was hospitalised. The outfit claimed Mahto had been on a nine-day hunger strike before the police action and that his condition deteriorated following the alleged lathi-charge.The CJP claimed Mahto was placed on oxygen support after developing severe chest pain and sustaining multiple injuries during the police action. It alleged that the police crackdown targeted students taking part in a peaceful protest.During the video call, Mahto reportedly recounted the police action and circumstances leading to his hospitalisation, the statement said.“Whether it is Jantar Mantar in New Delhi or the streets of Jharkhand, such severe police brutality against peaceful student demonstrators is cruel, inhuman, and entirely unacceptable,” Dipke said.He also expressed support for Mahto, calling him a “true hero” for his efforts on behalf of the student community and saying that the CJP stood firmly with his struggle.
