New Delhi: Delhi Police has apprehended seven Bangladeshi nationals for allegedly violating the conditions of their double-entry visas by overstaying beyond the permitted 15-day stay per visit.The action was taken under a visa status verification drive to identify foreign nationals violating immigration norms. During the drive, police teams conducted verification at hotels, guest houses and other establishments accommodating foreign nationals across central Delhi.Police said a tip-off was received about Bangladeshi nationals allegedly staying illegally in Delhi. One of them, Mohammad Nazrul Islam Foisal (26) was first held in Nabi Karim area. During questioning, he allegedly disclosed the presence of other Bangladeshi nationals.Cops conducted raids at locations in Sarita Vihar and Madanpur Khadar and apprehended six others. Their passports, visas and travel documents were scrutinised, and police found that they had exceeded the permissible 15-day stay under their double-entry visas.All were produced before the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), which issued restriction orders and initiated deportation proceedings. They have been shifted to the detention centre at Sewa Dham, Shahzada Bagh, pending formalities.Police said no previous criminal involvement was found. Their passports, visas and mobile phones were taken into possession.
