New Delhi: Parts of the city got rain Sunday but hot and humid conditions stayed and added to the discomfort.India Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain over the next seven days and issued a yellow alert for Tuesday as there could be moderate rain.Between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm Sunday, Naraina in south-west Delhi received 15 mm, Janakpuri 7.5 mm, Ayanagar in south-west Delhi 6.5 mm, the ridge in north Delhi 3 mm and Lodhi Road 0.4 mm of rainfall. Safdarjung, the city’s base station, and Palam saw trace rainfall.The maximum temperature was 35.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. The heat index or feel-like temperature stood at 47.1 degrees Celsius at 11.30 am. “No significant change in the maximum temperatures is likely in the next seven days,” a Met official said.The minimum temperature was 26.2 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. It is likely to stay between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius Monday.The air quality was satisfactory. The AQI was 78 Sunday.
