Tamil Nadu Electricity Board is set to launch a major recruitment exercise with 20,449 vacancies announced across multiple power sector organisations in the state. The recruitment notification is scheduled for release in July 2026 through the official website, with online applications expected to begin in August 2026.The announcement was made by Tamil Nadu Law and Energy Resources Minister CTR Nirmal Kumar, who stated that vacancies would be filled across several categories, including Assistant Engineer, Technical Assistant, Multi-Purpose Field Assistant and Gangman. Candidates seeking updates on the recruitment process have been advised to monitor the official portal regularly.Vacancies announced across multiple categoriesAccording to the announced vacancy details, a total of 15,058 posts fall under the new recruitment cycle for 2026-27. Assistant Engineer and Technical Assistant positions detailedThe recruitment drive includes 839 Assistant Engineer vacancies across three disciplines. Of these, 516 posts are for Electrical Engineering, 212 for Mechanical Engineering and 111 for Civil Engineering.Technical Assistant recruitment will cover 1,148 positions. The Electrical stream accounts for 945 vacancies, while the Mechanical stream has 203 vacancies.Recruitment planned across power sector organisationsSeparate recruitment plans have also been announced for major state power sector entities. Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited is expected to fill 7,851 vacancies. The state government has indicated that these posts are expected to be filled during the current year.Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited has announced plans to recruit approximately 1,420 personnel across various posts. Detailed category-wise information is expected with the release of the notification.Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Limited has approved 3,075 vacancies for recruitment.The selection process for notified posts is expected to include a written examination, document verification and interview or skill test, depending on the post.
