During the same year, 5,378 cases were registered against people found flouting tenant verification norms.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"7\"\/>In 2026, up to March 31, a total of 12,860 tenant verification forms were filled, with 896 cases registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to disobedience of orders duly promulgated by a public servant.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"11\"\/>\u201c On a monthly average basis, this translates to approximately 4,287 forms being filled in 2026 so far,\u201d the data shows.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"13\"\/>Police said tenant verification can be completed through both online and offline modes. For the online process, applicants are required to visit the Delhi Police website, access the citizen services section and select tenant registration. After creating an account, users must fill in the required details and submit the form.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"16\"\/>For offline verification, landlords can collect the form from their local police station or download it from the Delhi Police website.
