<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi:<\/span> Lieutenant governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu Saturday urged citizens to adopt \u201cone habit change\u201d for making healthier living more achievable.Speaking on the occasion of World Liver Day at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), he said this year\u2019s theme, \u201cSolid Habits, Strong Liver,\u201d reinforces the importance of consistent, choices daily in improving long-term liver health.Highlighting the importance of early detection, the LG underlined the role of ILBS in strengthening specialised care, research and public awareness on liver health. He also referred to initiatives like \u2018dawat-e-jigar\u2019 for promoting dietary awareness, adding that sustained awareness and small behavioural changes can contribute to better public health outcomes.Later, addressing the inaugural session of the Harit Manthan National Hackathon 2026, organised by Delhi Development Authority in collaboration with the Udhmodya Foundation, the LG said the initiative reflects an effort to connect ideas with implementation in urban ecology. He noted that the hackathon brings together researchers, scholars, young innovators and stakeholders to develop practical, innovation-driven solutions to real-world challenges.Emphasising the role of technology in urban environmental management, Sandhu said tools such as data analytics, remote sensing and digital monitoring systems can improve the tracking and management of ecological assets. In a city like Delhi, with a significant ecological footprint, managing over 16,000 acres of parks, biodiversity zones and urban forests presents both opportunities and challenges, he noted.The LG stressed that effective management at such scale requires the integration of technology, policy innovation and community participation. He added that the real challenge lies not merely in innovation, but in its integration into governance frameworks, highlighting the need to bridge the gap between available technologies and their deployment at scale.Underlining that urban sustainability is not only a technical concern but also involves behavioural and institutional dimensions, he urged stakeholders to continue contributing towards strengthening Delhi\u2019s ecological landscape. He said initiatives like Harit Manthan are crucial in shaping future-ready policies by enabling ideas to be tested, refined and translated into practical, scalable solutions for sustainable urban development.<\/div>\n
