<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Friday flagged off 200 electric buses, launched the Delhi-Rohtak interstate e-bus service and dedicated the Madanpur Khadar bus terminal to the public. She also inaugurated the newly constructed administrative building at the East Vinod Nagar depot to enhance the efficiency of employees.The total bus fleet has now crossed 6,300, including over 4,500 e-buses, making Delhi the city with the largest electric bus fleet in the country. Govt aims to increase this number to approximately 14,000 buses by 2028-29. The buses are equipped with CCTV cameras, panic buttons, real-time tracking and features helping differently abled people.Gupta said electric mobility was being rapidly promoted by Delhi govt to make the capital pollution-free. \u201cDelhi\u2019s electric vehicle policy is one of the most effective and comprehensive policies in the country. A massive budget of Rs 4,000 crore has been allocated for the next four years, under which not only are private vehicles being incentivised with road tax exemptions, but a plan is also ready to transition school buses and commercial vehicles to electric in a phased manner,\u201d she said.An official said the Delhi-Rohtak e-bus service was among several govt interstate bus services, which will run from ISBT Kashmiri Gate\/Peeragarhi via Tikri border to Bahadurgarh and Rohtak.The Madanpur Khadar terminus near Kalindi Kunj metro station provides three bus bays and two passenger sheds, along with parking space for six buses at a time. For passenger convenience, toilets and pass sections have been ensured. A specially designed ramp for the differently abled has been built and a rainwater harvesting system has been installed. Three buses will run from here to Safdarjung Terminal on route no. 465 and 14 on route no. D-022, and five buses to Nehru Place on route no. D-8802.Besides basic facilities, the administrative building at East Vinod Nagar depot has a 50,000-litre-capacity fire tank and a rainwater harvesting system.CM announced that a massive EV waste disposal plant would be established in Holambi Kalan to ensure scientific disposal of e-vehicle batteries. \u201cDelhi govt is fully committed to building a clean, green, and sustainable transport system, and All these efforts will lead Delhi towards a safe, fast and pollution-free future.\u201dTransport minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said Delhi govt was providing safe, accessible and world-class transport facilities to the people and the expansion of interstate services would further strengthen connectivity. In the past one year, DTC has reported an increase of approximately Rs 173 crore in revenue against the previous year, he added.<\/div>\n
