<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi:<\/span> Three men allegedly part of \u201cthak-thak\u201d gang were arrested from different parts of the city in separate cases of vehicle theft and distraction-based snatching.In the first case, two men involved in 16 such cases were arrested near Pushpa Bhawan Bus Stand in South Delhi. The accused have been identified as Rehmat Ali (42), a history-sheeter involved in 23 cases, and his associate Hemant (42), who has 16 criminal cases against him. Both were released from jail in 2024.Deputy commissioner of police (south) Anant Mittal said police received information that the duo would arrive around 10.20 pm on April 14 to sell stolen mobile phones. A trap was laid, and they were arrested.The gang used to distract targets by knocking on vehicle windows, creating a \u201cthak-thak\u201d sound, to divert the driver\u2019s attention, while another member stole valuables from inside the vehicle.In a separate case, a 24-year-old member of the gang, identified as Kunal, a resident of Madangir, was arrested. He is involved in eight criminal cases and, along with his associate, had targeted a man on April 12.DCP (Southwest) Amit Goel said the complainant and his wife had stopped their vehicle near a foot overbridge after two unknown persons signalled them for help. Taking advantage of the situation, one of the accused stole a bag from the vehicle, and both fled on a scooty. The bag contained gold jewellery, Canadian currency, Indian cash, a mobile phone and important documents.Following investigation, Kunal was arrested, and the stolen items were recovered.<\/div>\n
