Dalal Street ended the previous week on a higher note, with four of the country’s 10 most valued companies adding a combined Rs 1.43 lakh crore to their market valuation.State Bank of India emerged as the biggest beneficiary among the top-10 firms, seeing its market capitalisation rise by Rs 63,922.03 crore during the week to Rs 10,11,721.84 crore. The lender was followed by Reliance Industries<\/a>, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Larsen & Toubro among the gainers.The overall market also ended higher for the week. BSE Sensex<\/a> gained 404.53 points, or 0.51 per cent, while NSE Nifty advanced 187.05 points, or 0.76 per cent.“Markets ended the week with modest gains despite heightened volatility, as investors navigated the roll-out of the new Closing Auction Session (CAS) framework for F&O stocks, the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy decision, and lingering geopolitical uncertainties,” Ajit Mishra \u2013 SVP, Research, Religare Broking Ltd, told PTI.Reliance Industries added Rs 32,816.4 crore to its valuation, taking it to Rs 18,01,925.19 crore. TCS recorded an increase of Rs 31,875.35 crore, with its market capitalisation reaching Rs 8,87,770.13 crore.At the same time, Larsen & Toubro’s valuation rose by Rs 14,637.76 crore to Rs 5,56,482.45 crore.The gains of these four companies, however, were offset to some extent by losses among the other six firms in the top-10 list. Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) and Hindustan Unilever together saw Rs 1.23 lakh crore wiped off their market value.LIC registered the largest decline, with its valuation falling Rs 40,543.23 crore to Rs 4,96,891.82 crore. Bajaj Finance followed, losing Rs 37,168.96 crore to end at Rs 6,73,648.55 crore.HDFC Bank’s market capitalisation declined by Rs 24,183.16 crore to Rs 11,27,967.47 crore. ICICI Bank shed Rs 9,507.67 crore, taking its valuation to Rs 10,20,370.63 crore.Bharti Airtel lost Rs 7,581.65 crore in market value, leaving its valuation at Rs 12,22,423.98 crore. Hindustan Unilever’s market capitalisation fell Rs 4,793.16 crore to Rs 4,88,808.97 crore.Despite the movements during the week, Reliance Industries retained its spot as the most valued firm, followed by Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, LIC and Hindustan Unilever.<\/div>\n
