<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nVadodara: <\/span>A man accused of rape has been re-arrested late Thursday night, hours after he escaped from custody while undergoing treatment at SSG Hospital, police said.Govind Vahoniya was apprehended from the Chhani area after police received information that he was planning to meet his family members there.According to police, when Vahoniya\u2018s handcuffs were removed to administer an injection, he allegedly pushed one of the police guards and fled to a nearby under-construction building.Police surrounded the building and made repeated announcements asking him to surrender. A drone was also deployed to locate him. However, when a police team entered the building, they found that Vahoniya had already managed to flee.Investigators later learnt that the accused had gone hiding in the ravines along the Vishwamitri river. He reportedly contacted his family members and was planning to leave the city when a police team tracked him near Chhani canal and arrested him.Vahoniya had been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Following his escape, a separate offence was registered against him at Raopura police station, while an inquiry has also been initiated into the circumstances surrounding his escape from custody.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
