<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall continued to lash the national capital on Friday morning, a day after intense showers caused waterlogging in several parts of the city.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert and forecast more heavy rain throughout the day.The minimum temperature at Safdarjung, Delhi\u2019s base weather station, was recorded at 25.6 degrees Celsius, which is 1.3 degrees below normal.According to station-wise data, Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius, 3.6 degrees below normal, while Lodhi Road recorded 25.2 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees below normal.The Ridge station registered a minimum of 22.1 degrees Celsius, 4.1 degrees below normal, and Ayanagar recorded 24.8 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees below normal.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said Delhi witnessed its rainiest day of August so far this year during the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Friday.Safdarjung recorded 59.2 mm of rainfall, while Lodhi Road received 60.4 mm, Ridge 57 mm, Ayanagar 26.2 mm, and Palam 16.9 mm of rain.The weather office has forecast a generally cloudy sky with heavy rain during the day. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely during the forenoon and afternoon, while very light to light rain is expected during the evening and night.The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 31 degrees Celsius, while humidity was recorded at 98 per cent at 8.30 am.The city’s air quality remained in the “satisfactory” category, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 62 in the morning hours, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).According to the CPCB, an AQI between 51 and 100 falls in the “satisfactory” category.(With agency inputs)<\/span><\/div>\n
