New Delhi: <\/span>Delhi Police<\/a> has set up four sub-control rooms at strategic locations along kanwar yatra route in northeast Delhi to monitor the movement of pilgrims and manage traffic.Twelve to 13 cops have been deployed round the clock at each of the facilities at Y-Point, Dharampura, Maujpur Chowk, Khajuri Khas Chowk and near Gokalpuri T-Point. Two to four cops at each sub-control room are equipped with wireless sets and are in constant communication with officers on the ground. The rest are on standby. If any incident is reported in the vicinity, this team is immediately dispatched to the spot, an officer said.Seventy-eight kanwar camps have been set up across North-East district, of which 31 are fully operational while the remaining are being made functional. A total of 1,533 Delhi Police personnel, along with 250 CAPF personnel, have been deployed 24×7 to assist the pilgrims and ensure their security.To strengthen surveillance and emergency response, police have deployed 27 PCR vans, five Prakhar vans and 107 motorcycles for patrolling. Organisers of all kanwar camps have been directed to install CCTV cameras and erect machan<\/span>s (watch towers) to monitor surrounding areas.Seven key entry points into the district, including Keshav Chowk, DLF Border, Bhopura Border and Gokalpuri, and four major exit points \u2014 Old Yamuna Bridge, Yudhister Setu (ISBT), Signature Bridge and Wazirabad Bridge \u2014 are under enhanced security.As part of the traffic management plan, the movement of heavy commercial vehicles has been restricted or diverted on Wazirabad Road, Vikas Marg, GT Road and adjoining stretches until Aug 12. GT Road, from Apsara Border to Yamuna Bridge, will be closed to commuters from 7am on Aug 9 until 8pm on Aug 12 to facilitate the movement of kanwariyas.<\/div>\n
