NEW DELHI: A special NIA court at Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court Complex on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of the accused in the Red Fort blast case till August 12.The case relates to the November 2025 car bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. The National Investigation Agency<\/a> (NIA) has already filed a chargesheet against several accused. One of the accused, alleged to be the key conspirator, died in the blast, according to news agency PTI.The matter came up before the newly designated Special Exclusive NIA Court at the Rouse Avenue Court Complex. Special Judge (NIA) Prashant Sharma extended the judicial custody of the accused till August 12. The court is also scheduled to consider the chargesheet filed by the NIA.The accused \u2014 Aamir Rashid Mir, Jasir Bilal Wani, Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr. Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, Soyab, Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla and Yasir Ahmad Dar \u2014 were produced before the court through video conferencing.On May 14, the NIA filed its first chargesheet in the case. The agency submitted a 7,500-page prosecution complaint against 10 accused persons in connection with the blast that took place near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10, 2025.According to the NIA, the high-intensity Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) explosion killed 11 people, injured several others and caused extensive damage to nearby property, PTI reported.The agency has invoked provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Explosive Substances Act, the Arms Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.Among those chargesheeted is alleged main conspirator Dr. Umer Un Nabi, against whom proceedings are proposed to be abated following his death. The remaining accused named in the prosecution complaint are Aamir Rashid Mir, Jasir Bilal Wani, Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr. Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, Soyab, Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla and Yasir Ahmad Dar.The NIA alleged that all the accused were associated with Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), an offshoot of Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS), which was declared a terrorist organisation by the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2018.According to the agency, the chargesheet is based on an extensive investigation carried out across Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Delhi-NCR. The prosecution complaint reportedly includes 588 witness statements, more than 395 documents and over 200 seized material exhibits.The NIA has alleged a larger “jihadi conspiracy” involving radicalised individuals, including medical professionals, who were allegedly influenced by AQIS\/AGuH ideology. Investigators claimed that the accused reorganised the outfit under the name “AGuH Interim” during a secret meeting held in Srinagar in 2022.The agency further alleged that the accused launched an operation titled “Operation Heavenly Hind” with the objective of overthrowing the democratically elected government and imposing Sharia rule.According to the NIA, the accused allegedly recruited members, propagated extremist ideology, stockpiled arms and ammunition, and manufactured explosives using commercially available chemicals. The agency claimed that the explosive used in the blast was Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP), which was allegedly prepared after multiple experiments.The investigation also allegedly uncovered the illegal procurement of prohibited weapons, including AK-47 rifles, Krinkov rifles and country-made pistols. The agency further claimed that the accused conducted experiments involving rocket-based and drone-mounted IEDs aimed at security establishments.The NIA said scientific and forensic examinations, including DNA fingerprinting and voice analysis, helped establish the identity of the deceased accused, Dr. Umer Un Nabi.<\/div>\n
