<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi: Delhi Police<\/a> will examine the contents of a Zero FIR transferred from Noida in connection with a viral video allegedly showing <\/span>Ruchika Singh<\/a> using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/a> during the recent Jantar Mantar protest before deciding the future course of its investigation, officials said on Friday.The Zero FIR was registered in Noida on July 29 based on a complaint and was transferred to Delhi on Friday as the alleged offence fell within the national capital’s jurisdiction.The development comes amid an ongoing Delhi Police investigation into the circulation of allegedly derogatory content linked to the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) protest over the NEET paper leak issue at Jantar Mantar.Earlier, Delhi Police had registered an FIR at the Special Cell police station over the circulation of the alleged derogatory video targeting the prime minister.The police also issued notices to social media platform X seeking removal of the content and directed it to preserve relevant electronic records as part of the investigation.A senior Delhi Police officer, requesting anonymity, said the force would first review the contents of the transferred FIR before deciding its next steps.“Examine the contents of the Zero FIR, discuss the matter internally and seek legal opinion before deciding the future course of the investigation after receiving the FIR copy.”Police are also expected to verify the authenticity of the viral video and determine whether the clips circulating on social media match the original recording.According to the complaint, the woman allegedly used abusive language against the prime minister during the July 20 protest.It alleged that the remarks lowered the dignity of the office of the prime minister and had the potential to create enmity in society and disturb public peace.The case was registered under Sections 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), 353(1) (public mischief) and 356(1) (criminal defamation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as a Zero FIR before being transferred to Delhi Police.Investigators are expected to examine whether the allegations in the transferred FIR overlap with the case already registered by Delhi Police over the circulation of the alleged derogatory content.They are also likely to reconstruct the sequence of events surrounding the recording and circulation of the video while collecting relevant electronic evidence as part of the probe.The controversy erupted after a video purportedly showing a participant at the CJP-led Jantar Mantar protest using abusive language against the prime minister surfaced on social media, prompting complaints and police action.(With PTI inputs)<\/div>\n
