The student has claimed that the score displayed on the official result portal changed three times within less than 24 hours after the results were declared.The petition, filed through Advocate Vineet Jindal, seeks directions to preserve and produce the student’s original physical Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) answer sheet and other examination records so they can be independently verified. The matter is likely to come up before the High Court on Friday.The petition does not seek re-evaluation of the answers. Instead, it questions whether the records relied upon by the NTA match the answer sheet filled by the candidate during the examination.<\/p>\n According to the petition, the student appeared for NEET UG 2026 on June 21. After comparing his responses with the provisional and final answer keys, he estimated that he would secure around 620 marks.However, when the NTA declared the results on July 16, the portal allegedly first displayed a score of 650 marks.The petition states that after the candidate was logged out and signed in again, the score changed to 500 marks. When he checked the portal the following day, it allegedly showed 135 marks.According to the plea, no explanation has been provided by the NTA for these successive changes in the displayed score.<\/p>\n The petition states that after noticing the discrepancies, the student sent multiple email representations to the NTA. He also filed an application under the Right to Information Act seeking details related to his evaluation and a copy of his original OMR answer sheet.After receiving no satisfactory response, the student visited the NTA office in New Delhi on July 20.According to the petition, officials showed him an OMR sheet on a computer screen and identified it as his answer sheet. The student, however, disputed its authenticity, maintaining that it was not the OMR sheet he had filled during the examination.The plea further alleges that despite his objection, officials informed him that it was the only OMR sheet available in the agency’s records and that the same document would also be produced before the Court. The same OMR sheet was later emailed to him, which he continues to dispute.<\/p>\n The petition also refers to what it describes as another inconsistency in the records supplied by the NTA.According to the plea, a calculation sheet shared by the agency mentions the examination date as July 21, 2026, instead of June 21, 2026, when NEET UG 2026 was actually conducted.The petition argues that this discrepancy raises questions about the authenticity and reliability of the records maintained by the agency.<\/p>\n The student has clarified that he is not asking for a re-evaluation of his answers.Instead, the petition seeks directions to the NTA to produce the original physical OMR answer sheet before the Court and preserve all related electronic records, including server logs, scanning logs, audit trails and metadata.It also seeks permission for the student to participate in the ongoing NEET UG 2026 counselling process while the dispute is examined.The plea further requests the Court to appoint an independent expert, forensic laboratory or Court Commissioner to examine the original OMR answer sheet and related electronic records and submit a report.The matter is expected to be heard by the Delhi High Court on Friday.
