However, due to high humidity, the heat index or \u2018feels-like temperature\u2019 touched 44.5 degrees C at 11.30 am when the air temperature was 34.6 degrees C. The heat index further rose to 48 degrees C at 2.30 pm even as the air temperature was 35.8 degrees C.The minimum temperature settled at 27.6 degrees C, which is near normal for this time of the year.<\/p>\n According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Safdarjung, the city\u2019s base weather station, did not receive any rainfall from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm. Ayanagar and Pusa, though, logged .5 mm of rainfall each, while Lodhi Road and Ridge recorded \u2018trace\u2019 rainfall.\u201cThere are chances of very light to light rain over the next few days. A yellow alert is in place for moderate rain Tuesday and Wednesday when rain activity is expected to intensify,\u201d said a Met official.However, no significant change in the maximum temperature is likely during the next 48 hours. However, IMD has placed the capital in \u2018normal\u2019 rainfall category. It classifies rainfall as \u2018deficit\u2019 when it widens to more than -19%.
