<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Sunday released a video thanking supporters after the end of the 37-day-long protest at Jantar Mantar, saying he could finally “sleep peacefully” without worrying about what would happen next. “What I went through in the last 37 days was really, really difficult. It was not easy, not just for me, but for all of our team,” Dipke said.Dipke thanked supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party across the country for backing the movement despite criticism and doubts from opponents.“And most of all, I would like to thank each and every supporter of the Cockroach Janata Party spread across India.The people who supported us and trusted us, who loved us when everybody was doubting us, I really want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. <\/p>\n This wouldn’t have been possible without your support” he stated.The CJP founder also apologised to supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar for being unable to meet them personally, citing health issues.“I really want to apologize. I couldn’t meet all the people who were waiting at Jantar Mantar, couldn’t thank them, because you know I have typhoid and I had high fever. My temperature was 101. That’s why I had to come home.” Dipke added.Thanking those who remained at the protest site throughout the agitation, he said, “So that’s it. I just want to thank you all. And all the people who were waiting at Jantar Mantar for 37 days, I want to thank each and every one of you. And I want to tell you that I really, really, really appreciate what you did for this country. And I really, really love you all. Without you guys we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this. Salute to you all. Salute to you all.”Dipke also acknowledged critics of the party, saying their doubts and questions had helped the organisation improve.“And the people who doubted us, criticized us, or questioned us that you guys are not serious, you guys don’t know how to protest, I want to thank them as well. If you guys wouldn’t have criticized us, if you guys wouldn’t have questioned us, we wouldn’t have been able to improve. Jai Hind, ” he said.The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday called off its 36-day-long protest at Jantar Mantar over the NEET issue, shortly after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the Union Council of Ministers.The party said the government had accepted all its demands, including Pradhan’s resignation, compensation for families of students who died by suicide, and the withdrawal of FIRs filed against protesters.Announcing the withdrawal of the agitation with immediate effect across the country, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the decision followed multiple rounds of discussions with the government.“The CJP declares that we withdraw the agitation in good faith and understanding that the agreed-upon terms will be executed within the agreed-upon timeline,” Das said at a joint press conference along with government interlocutors, Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh.Das was accompanied in the meeting by another CJP spokesperson, Ashotosh Ranka.“As the government accepted all our demands after 36 days of protests, we appeal to everyone to peacefully withdraw from protest sites and go home,” Ranka said.The CJP said it had submitted a draft of its demands to the government and expected a written guarantee by Tuesday.Addressing the media, Nadda said the CJP delegation presented a written draft outlining concerns related to cases filed during the agitation, along with its remaining demands.He said the party sought assurances that no retaliatory action would be taken against protesters, that compensation would be provided to affected families, and that its five-point charter of demands would be considered.“We discussed these issues in detail. After the discussion, the first point was that no action should be taken and no FIRs should be filed. If any FIRs have already been registered, whether by the Delhi Police or in BJP-ruled states, it will be withdrawn,” Nadda said.The Union Health Minister added that the government had agreed to provide honourable compensation, in accordance with rules, to the families of NEET suicide victims.Ranka said representatives of the CJP and the government would meet again after four weeks to review the implementation of the agreement and discuss reforms in the education sector.He said the party’s demands were basic in nature and had now been accepted by the government.Das said three rounds of talks had been held on the key demands, including Pradhan’s resignation, withdrawal of cases, and assurances that no future cases would be filed against protesters or organisers.He added that the CJP had also sought Rs one crore compensation for the families of those who died following the cancellation of the NEET examination on May 3.“All our demands have been accepted by the government,” Das said.Ranka said the CJP has given a five-point demand charter which talks about examination reforms. “We will meet again in four weeks with that demand charter so that we can work on broader reform,” he said.Nadda also said the government would provide the CJP with copies of FIRs registered during the agitation.Pradhan resigned earlier in the day amid mounting protests demanding his removal over the NEET controversy. In his statement, he said the issue was not one of “individual prestige” and that he wanted to prevent anti-national forces from exploiting the situation at Jantar Mantar and elsewhere in the country.The CJP had been staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since June 20, demanding accountability over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and alleged irregularities in the CBSE’s on-screen marking process, while also calling for wider reforms in public examinations.The movement drew support from students across the country and received backing from several opposition parties.The protests intensified after activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had been on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar since June 28, was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital by police on July 18.The agitation reached a peak on July 20 when thousands marched towards Parliament, leading to clashes with police, who used lathicharge and tear gas to disperse protesters.
