New Delhi: Delhi Police<\/a> Saturday released the names and CCTV images of several people with alleged criminal antecedents who, according to investigators, were involved in the violence that erupted during Sansad March on July 20.Sources said one of the suspects had been identified as Sahil, who was allegedly seen near police vehicles that were vandalised. Investigators claimed that he had a criminal background and was among those being tracked. Another suspect, Rubal, who also has a criminal record, was allegedly captured on video moving around Jantar Mantar during the clashes.Yesh, another suspect, was allegedly found through CCTV footage and the facial recognition system (FRS). <\/p>\n

Police said he was previously involved in a criminal case registered in Rohini\u2019s Budh Vihar in 2025.Police also named Sahil Saifi, claiming he was present in the area during the clashes and is under investigation for his alleged role. Manoj, also with a criminal background, was allegedly seen raising slogans during the protest before the violence broke out on July 20.According to investigators, the suspects were identified using FRS after police analysed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage, mobile phone videos and social media clips collected from Jantar Mantar and adjoining areas to trace those allegedly involved in the violence.Sources said around 400 people had been identified, with several of them allegedly having multiple criminal cases against them, including some with more than a dozen cases.Four FRS-equipped vehicles were deployed in and around Jantar Mantar to monitor antisocial elements. Fitted with 360-degree cameras, the vehicles scan crowds in real time and automatically alert police teams whenever a person\u2019s facial features match those of anyone in the police database of more than two lakh suspected criminals. Alerts are generated only when such a match is detected.Following the violence, Delhi Police launched a preventive measure across the city by detaining bad characters and history-sheeters from various areas. Senior officers directed local police to identify and pick up habitual offenders and those with criminal backgrounds who, they suspected, could travel to New Delhi district to disrupt law and order or participate in further violence.<\/div>\n
