<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nNew Delhi: IMD<\/a> has issued a yellow alert for moderate to heavy showers for Tuesday and Wednesday, after several parts of Delhi saw light rain Monday.Safdarjung, city\u2019s base station, and Lodhi Road logged 5.8 mm and 4.7 mm of rainfall, respectively till 8.30 am Monday. Between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, Safdarjung received 1.4 mm, Lodhi Road 1.2 mm, Janakpuri 0.5 mm, Ridge in north Delhi 0.2 mm and Palam recorded just \u2018trace\u2019 rainfall.\u201cThe monsoon trough, which was towards the foothills, was inactive for the past seven to 10 days. However, the trough has been activated due to moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal. The Monsoon trough passes through Sri Ganganagar, Rohtak, Delhi, Hardoi, Varanasi, Daltonganj, Purulia and Digha Monday,\u201d said IMD scientist Krishna Mishra<\/a>.He added that a western disturbance is also expected to interact with the monsoon trough from Tuesday and hence, red alert has been issued for Jammu and Kashmir, Himanchal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Uttar Pradesh.\u201cIn Delhi, intense showers are likely Tuesday while subdued rain activity is predicted from Thursday. A stronger western disturbance is needed in the winter season for intense rain, but a moderate western disturbance can cause heavy rain in the monsoon season after its interaction with the monsoon trough,\u201d said Mishra.IMD has predicted a few spells of light to moderate rain at most places Monday with a spell of heavy rain at isolated places accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and winds up to 50 kmph during early morning to noon, and one or two spells of very light to light rain during the remaining day.The maximum temperature was recorded at 31.6 degrees celsius, three degrees below normal. It was 38.3 degrees the previous day. It is likely to remain between 31 and 33 degrees Tuesday. The minimum temperature settled at 26.8 degrees celsius, one notch below normal, and a dip of 4.2 degrees from Sunday\u2019s minimum. It is expected to stay between 24 and 26 degrees Tuesday.Meanwhile, Delhi\u2019s air quality remained \u2018moderate\u2019 with an AQI reading of 127.<\/div>\n
