<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\nNEW DELHI: Hours before the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed “Chalo Sansad” march on Monday, the party alleged that a truck carrying stones had been parked near Jantar Mantar.The party claimed it could be used to falsely implicate peaceful protesters, even as Delhi Police imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across the New Delhi district and tightened security ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.In a post on X, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke shared a video purportedly showing a truck loaded with stones and alleged that authorities were “orchestrating stone-pelting” at the protest site.“Truck loaded with stones have been parked at Jantar Mantar. What are the police authorities up to? Are they orchestrating stone-pelting on the peaceful CJP protesters?” Dipke wrote.He further alleged that a damaged van had also been placed near the protest site and claimed it could later be used to blame protesters for vandalism. Delhi Police had not responded to these allegations till the filing of this report.Meanwhile, Delhi Police said no permission had been sought or granted for the proposed march to Parliament.The police announced that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS (formerly Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code) were in force across the New Delhi district. The restrictions prohibit assemblies of four or more persons, unauthorised rallies and the carrying of weapons.In a public advisory, deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi) Sachin Sharma said protest marches, processions, demonstrations and assemblies of five or more persons were prohibited, except at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar with prior permission.Police warned that violations could attract action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws.Security has also been stepped up across central Delhi, with additional police and paramilitary personnel deployed around Jantar Mantar, Parliament Street, Central Vista, Connaught Place and other high-security areas.Multi-layered barricades, intensified CCTV surveillance, vehicle checks and anti-sabotage measures have also been put in place.The heightened security comes a day after activist Sonam Wangchuk<\/a> was shifted from the Jantar Mantar protest site to Safdarjung Hospital after his health deteriorated during his indefinite hunger strike.From the hospital, Wangchuk issued a fresh message saying he would end his fast if the Centre accepted responsibility for alleged failures in the education system or if political leaders assured him that the issues would be raised in Parliament.He also claimed that his “freedom of movement, speech and communication” had been restricted at the hospital.The CJP has called for a “Chalo Sansad” march on Monday as part of its protest over alleged irregularities in NEET-UG 2026 examination and its demand for the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.<\/div>\n
