Kanpur……………..13(Faiz)Times News NetworkTimes News NetworkKanpur: Etawah police in an encounter<\/a> on Friday gunned down two hardened offenders in Shikohabad (Firozabad) who were carrying a reward of Rs 25,000. They were wanted in a recent district robbery case in which they had snatched a gold chain from a prominent surgeon during his morning walk.SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said the incident occurred on July 3 in Etawah\u2019s Friends Colony area when senior surgeon Dr. Ravindra Singh Pal had gone out for his morning walk. In the Chit Bhawan area near Central School, two men on a motorcycle allegedly grabbed a gold chain weighing around 15 grams from his neck and fled.The crime took place at around 6 am. Before the doctor could comprehend what had happened, the two suspects had already escaped on a speeding bike.After police were alerted, officers from Friends Colony reached the scene. Given the seriousness of the case, policemen from Ekdil police station and the SOG team were assigned the investigation of the incident. Police inspected the area and began reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras.During the probe, the investigators obtained a key lead. The CCTV footage showed the suspected riders moving through the area after the crime. Based on the video, police began working to identify the accused and track the route they had used to escape.Following the incident, Dr. Ravindra Singh Pal met SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, provided a full account of what had happened, and urged the police to arrest the accused quickly. Treating the matter with urgency, the SSP issued appropriate instructions to the concerned officers.Police teams from Friends Colony, along with Ekdil police and the SOG, had been carrying out continuous raids using CCTV footage, technical evidence, and other leads to locate the suspects. On Friday, their whereabouts were traced near Shikohabad railway station. The deceased were facing more than a dozen criminal cases and each carried a reward of Rs 25,000.<\/div>\n
