Candidates who appeared for the medical entrance examination can now download their scorecards from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"4\"\/>According to the NTA, nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was held on June 21, 2026. Out of them, more than 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"6\"\/>The agency said the results have been announced on time to ensure that the counselling and admission process for medical colleges begins as per schedule.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"8\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>NEET UG 2026: Overview<br \/><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"10\"\/>NEET UG 2026 was conducted at 5,440 examination centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. <!-- -->The exam was held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese and Urdu.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"15\"\/>More than 58 per cent of the qualified candidates are women. The NTA also said that most of the top-performing candidates are between 17 and 19 years of age.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"17\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2><keyword id=\"37619289\" type=\"General\" weightage=\"20\" keywordseo=\"NEET-UG-2026-toppers\" source=\"Orion\">NEET UG 2026 toppers<\/keyword><br \/><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"19\"\/>The highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly secured by Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"22\"\/>A total of 138 candidates scored above 690 marks, while 19 candidates scored more than 700 marks.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>Among the top 138 candidates:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"26\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo modify_cdata_list_style id-r-component \" data-pos=\"27\">\n<ul>\n<li>More than 93 per cent appeared for NEET UG for the first time.<\/li>\n<li>Around 99 per cent are between 17 and 19 years old.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"28\"\/>The top 17 candidates, who scored above 705 marks, belong to Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"31\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>NEET UG 2026 score distribution<br \/><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"33\"\/>The NTA has shared the following score distribution:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"35\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo modify_cdata_list_style id-r-component \" data-pos=\"36\">\n<ul>\n<li>19 candidates scored above 700 marks.<\/li>\n<li>1,492 candidates scored 650 marks and above.<\/li>\n<li>10,160 candidates scored 600 marks and above.<\/li>\n<li>90,780 candidates scored 500 marks and above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"37\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Category-wise qualified candidates<br \/><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"39\"\/>The number of qualified candidates in different categories is as follows:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"41\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo modify_cdata_list_style id-r-component \" data-pos=\"42\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>General:<\/strong> 2.91 lakh<\/li>\n<li><strong>Other Backward Classes Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL):<\/strong> 5.12 lakh<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scheduled Castes (SC): <\/strong>1.59 lakh<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scheduled Tribes (ST): <\/strong>63,716<\/li>\n<li><strong>General Economically Weaker Section (Gen-EWS):<\/strong> 95,026<\/li>\n<li><strong>Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): <\/strong>3,666<\/li>\n<li><strong>Persons with Disabilities (PwD):<\/strong> 303<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"43\"\/>The NTA said it completed the result process through a revised system that allowed several stages to run simultaneously.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"46\"\/>The timeline was as follows:<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"48\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"cdatainfo modify_cdata_list_style id-r-component \" data-pos=\"49\">\n<ul>\n<li>Provisional answer key released on June 25, with the objection window open till June 28.<\/li>\n<li>Scanned Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) answer sheets and recorded responses were displayed from July 13 to July 15.<\/li>\n<li>Final answer key and result were both released on July 16.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"50\"\/><\/p>\n<p><h2>Counselling details<br \/><\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"52\"\/>The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling for the 15 per cent All India Quota seats in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). Counselling for state quota seats will be carried out by the respective state authorities.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"54\"\/>The NTA has advised candidates to rely only on the official websites for counselling updates and warned them against fake calls, messages or websites claiming to offer admissions, seat blocking or score improvement.
