<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\nHyderabad<\/span>: Despite voting in the last elections, most voters from a colony under the Khairatabad constituency found their names missing from the 2025 final electoral rolls, resulting in none of them receiving enumeration forms during the ongoing SIR process. Residents of Deverkonda Nagar colony, who earlier voted at booth number 168 under the Khairtabad constituency, said none of them received any notice from the Election Commission and questioned how and why their names had been deleted from the rolls. They said that a search using their EPIC numbers is now resulting in a \u201cno result found\u201d message.\u201cOut of 65 votes in our colony, hardly four members have votes now,\u201d said V Madhava Reddy, general secretary of the Deverkonda Nagar Colony Welfare Association. The 75-year-old, whose name, along with his wife\u2019s, is now \u201cmissing\u201d the rolls, said that even ground-level staff were unable to explain why their votes are missing.\u201cI have been voting from the same house in the last three to four elections, including both Parliament and assembly elections, yet my name has been deleted. I even tried to submit an enumeration form online, but it is throwing an error there as well,\u201d he said. Residents said no BLO had visited the colony, which comprises 27 plots, including five standalone apartments and 22 independent houses.\u201cI personally checked the electoral rolls for 2023, 2024, and 2025. While all 65 of us were on the rolls in 2023, hardly anyone from our colony figure in the 2025 final electoral rolls. We voted just two years ago. How can the ECI delete our names without even issuing notices?\u201d questioned another resident, Venkata Kona.The residents said the ECI should provide an option to search using old EPIC numbers, explain the reasons for deleting a vote\u2019s name, and provide a redressal mechanism for such cases. Meanwhile, district election officer and GHMC commissioner RV Karnan said that following the 2023 assembly elections, the number of electors at booth number 168 exceeded 1,500. \u201cThe electors from Deverkonda Nagar Colony were shifted to booth number 186, located in the same building, Bharathi Vidya Bhavan, Road No. 71, Jubilee Hills, to avoid creating an auxiliary polling station. The voters were shifted in accordance with the instructions issued by the chief electoral officer,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
